Lake Tsivlou

Lake Tsivlou is a natural mountain lake located in Achaia, in the area of Zarouchla, at an altitude of about 700 meters. It is one of the hidden gems of the Peloponnese, and is a favorite destination for nature lovers, as it combines the tranquility of the landscape with stunning natural beauty.

History of the lake

The lake was created in March 1913 after a natural disaster. A huge landslide was caused by the collapse of a part of Mount Helmos, which blocked the Krathis River and caused the lake to appear. This geological development flooded the village of Tsivlos, from which the lake takes its name.

Landscape and nature

Lake Tsivlou is located in a green landscape, surrounded by pine and fir forests. The crystal waters of the lake, which have an intense blue color, create an idyllic atmosphere, which makes it ideal for relaxation and disconnection from everyday life.
